A lovely Sunday to you! How are you doing today?
I had a long but very productive Sunday and church was awesome as usual. It’s always beautiful and delightful for me to be in the house of my father and I hope you had the same experience.
Today, I realized it’s the 19th of May. The month is almost over and I have tried my best to write here as often as I can.
If I am going to be honest, in as much as I have a bunch of topics written down to pick from, I try to keep myself open to new ideas every day. I had something else planned, but I changed my mind last minute.
I want to talk about ‘When life hands you lemons’.
These days there’s always a clever remark when they say these things, some say ‘You make lemonade’, others say ‘Throw it back at life and demand a better fruit. I don’t know I happen to like lemons so I might keep ’em a little.
But on the flip side, I say ‘when life hands you a lemon, plant a seed.’In every challenge, there’s always a silver lining.
When life throws curved ball at you, what do you do? There is something life demands from you in this case and sometimes we are too bitter to see it. It’s easy to get caught up in how we feel, that we don’t see the light that is in the situation.
Yes, lemons are sour but they also have an underlying sweetness, but that is only if you use them right. It also has loads of benefits.
But beyond that, it has a seed that you can plant and grow. In every challenge is an opportunity for sowing, growth, and transformation. But usually, we just throw the seed away because ‘what would you do with a lemon tree right?’
Basically, what I’m trying to say today is that life is in cycles, and oftentimes we face trials and tribulations, but then it always demands something from us.
One of the lessons that I’ve learned is, for every challenge that we have, it places a demand on us to exercise our faith. But then it also involves recognizing the opportunities behind those things, because I have come to the place where I realized that in my life, things don’t just happen.
For everything that happens, there’s a reason. Some of them might be caused by my mistakes, some of them might be caused by my negligence, and sometimes it’s just the devil going about his business, but then there’s always a reason for everything, and I can always take that thing and make use of it and make it work for me.
I can always find that seed, and the crazy thing about it is that, the seed always seems insignificant. It always seems tiny because it is literally a seed, very little, but then if placed in the fertile ground, in all the right conditions, it is going to grow to become a tree.
In every challenge that I have, I try to look for it. What is this challenge demanding from me? And I try to find what that seed is that I can plant that would then on its own reproduce and turn into a tree and bless me and others, because here’s the thing about a tree, it never produces only one fruit.
There’s always multiple, which means that you have not just enough for yourself, but for others as well.
I was telling my friends that I have grown and even I can tell. There were some things that looked like a Herculean task before that now it’s just everyday life, and the turning point was/ is/ is always going to me, the very moment I recognize what my challenges demand from me (my seed), and I obey (plant) and I nurture (stay consistent) and it begins to bear fruit for me and for those around me.
So next time life hands you lemons, be grateful, enjoy your cold lemonade but remember to plant your seed.
Till tomorrow. It’s a new week, so remember to spread nothing but love and keep reaching for the stars.
It’s always beautiful reading you ; I glean an insight and there’s wisdom in the words
Thank you for sharing ❤️
